Ceramic Coating / Sealents
What is ceramic coating?
Ceramic coating is a layer of protection which goes over the paintwork of the car. It protects the paint from ultraviolet rays from the sun which reduces the amount of oxidisation on the paintworks surface. This overtime makes the paint work look dull and faded. It also offers protection to your cars clear-coat from scratches which may occur from normal wear and tear.
Ceramic coating is a very effective way of protecting your cars paint work as the coating creates a permanent or semi-permanent bond with the vehicles paint, meaning that it does not wash away or breakdown and does not require repeated applications after a few months.
Ceramic coating is also resistant to contaminants bonding to the paintwork. It can with stand chemical stains and etching from natural acidic contaminants. It will also make it easier to wash your car as the natural properties of the ceramic coating mean it repels water. Meaning it is hydrophobic. The ceramic coating makes it difficult for mud and grime to stick and bond to your vehicles paint work.
Detailing the paintwork before applying ceramic coating
Before applying the ceramic coat to the paintwork of the car it must be polished and buffed to make it look like new again. There wouldn’t be any point sealing the paintwork with the ceramic coat unless it looked perfect or as good as it could possible be. Once the ceramic coat is applied the paintwork underneath cannot be polished as it will be covered with a thin glass like skin.
Detailing the paintwork is imperative before going ahead with the ceramic coating application. We machine polish and remove any scratches or imperfections in the cars paintwork before applying the layers of ceramic coating.
