We are able to Refurbish Chrome Wheels back to original condition but the process takes between 4-6 weeks if the wheels come to us in poor condition. We can restore normal painted, polished or diamond cut wheels too, within 2-5 days depending on the finish. Chrome alloys take longer because a common problem with Chrome Alloy Wheels is Pitting.
Pitting is when small holes start to form on the surface of the Chrome. It is not possible to weld Chrome onto Chrome like Aluminium Welding otherwise the problem of the pitting could easily be fixed in the same way we repair bad corrosion on normal Painted Alloy Wheels.

Pitting is caused by Acid in Rain, Alloy Wheel cleaners and by the normal effects of the bad weather causing corrosion on all types of wheels. Chrome Wheels have Aluminium underneath the layers of Chrome. When the wheels are being produced they are put into a Chrome Bath or vat which allows the Chrome to attach itself the Alloy. The wheel is attached to a anode which charges the wheel whilst in solution, which has molecules in it, which coat the wheel, in thin layers. The Process is repeated as first the aluminium wheels surface must be coated with a base metal such as copper and then nickel before the Chromium is applied.
